Can you believe Labour’s latest plan - they’re supposed to be trying to talk Glasgow Airport porter John Smeaton into standing for Westminster against David Davis on a pro 42-day detention-without-charge ticket. They’ve already all but destroyed this poor, brave sap. They’ve pulled his head over the parapet. Gordon Brown has used Smeaton as a dummy to lavish praise on when he himself needed some good publicity. He then maxed the damage when he nominated the man for an honour - and brought the anger of others’ involved in resisting the airport attack on sad Smeaton’s head. Will somebody with a trace of sense take Smeaton aside and tell him to wise up. He’s only a pawn in their game. He should tell them to get lost. Moral compass? Don’t make me sick.
